HOW THE GAME WORKS
An ice hockey game is fast-paced, exciting, and full of action. It consists of three 20-minute periods, with short breaks in between. The clock stops whenever play is interrupted, so you always get the full 60 minutes of on-ice action.
Each team has six players on the ice at the same time: five skaters and one goaltender. Frequent line changes keep the pace high, ensuring there's always something happening. Boredom is simply not an option.
If the score is tied at the end of regulation, the game goes into overtime. If there's still no winner after overtime, the game is decided by a shootout. These one-on-one battles between the shooter and the goaltender often create some of the most dramatic moments in ice hockey.
