Crocodiles Conclude Preseason with Home Victory over the Beach Devils

3:1 Victory in Front of 1,097 Fans at Eisland Farmsen

After Friday’s narrow 4:3 overtime defeat in Timmendorf, the Crocodiles Hamburg bounced back on Saturday evening, defeating the Beach Devils 3:1 in front of their home crowd. With the victory, Head Coach Christopher Scholz’s team ends its preseason on a positive note.

The two teams faced each other twice within just 24 hours. After the Beach Devils came out on top in overtime in Timmendorf on Friday night, the rematch followed on Saturday at Eisland Farmsen, where 1,097 spectators witnessed a hard-fought and intense preseason game.

The visitors got off to the better start. In the 6th minute, Jonah Henderson gave CE Timmendorfer Strand a 1:0 lead, assisted by Nathan Chickering and Daniel Magnusson.

The Crocodiles were unfazed and increased the pressure as the game progressed. However, it took until the 34th minute for Leo Prüßner to tie the game at 1:1, assisted by Maksym Andriienko and Jonas Stockhausen.

Both teams continued to battle in an open and physical contest. Just under six minutes after the equalizer, the Crocodiles took the lead for the first time. Mathias Rakell scored in the 40th minute to make it 2:1, with Max Kotrba and Jakub Hofmann providing the assists.

The game remained close and exciting deep into the final period. The Beach Devils pushed for an equalizer and pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker shortly before the end.

The Crocodiles defended with discipline and eventually took advantage of the opportunity to seal the victory. In the 59th minute, Luca Häufler found the empty net to make it 3:1.

With the win, the Crocodiles Hamburg successfully conclude their preseason. After several intense exhibition games, the focus now shifts to the start of the regular season.

The Crocodiles begin regular-season play next weekend. On Friday, they will host the Jadehaie from Sande at Eisland Farmsen. On Sunday, the first Hamburg derby against HSV Eishockey follows. HSV also plays its home games at Eisland Farmsen.
