Riku Lindroos
RIKU LINDROOS
Riku Lindroos brings international experience and the renowned Finnish goaltending tradition to Hamburg. Born in Vantaa, Finland, he developed through the youth systems of Kiekko-Vantaa, Jokerit Helsinki, and Jokipojat, receiving the high-level training for which Finnish goaltenders are known. He later gained valuable experience playing in Finland, Sweden, Belgium, and Germany, establishing himself as a reliable and consistent netminder.
Before joining the Crocodiles, Lindroos played for JoKP in Finland's second-highest league, Lindlövens IF in Sweden, and the Golden Sharks Mechelen in the BENE League. In the summer of 2024, the Crocodiles Hamburg signed the Finnish goaltender to become the team's new last line of defense in the Regionalliga Nord.
In his very first season with the Crocodiles, Lindroos established himself as one of the league's top goaltenders. Posting an impressive 91.3% save percentage in 33 games, he ranked among the league leaders and played a decisive role in many of Hamburg's victories. His calm demeanor, excellent positioning, and remarkable consistency quickly made him an indispensable part of the team.
Lindroos also showcased his quality in the playoffs and other crucial games throughout the season. Opposing coaches and teams regularly acknowledged his ability to steal games with spectacular saves and provide his teammates with confidence in high-pressure situations.
With his international experience, professional attitude, and outstanding performances, Riku Lindroos has quickly established himself as one of the most important players for the Crocodiles Hamburg.
