His career first brought him to the Crocodiles Hamburg before he spent time with Hamburger SV. Since returning to the Crocodiles in 2013, Bruns has become a cornerstone of the team. Across more than a decade with the Crocodiles, the forward has made hundreds of competitive appearances and has consistently ranked among the team's most reliable point producers. For the 2023/24 season, Bruns joined CE Timmendorfer Strand, where he immediately demonstrated his quality and established himself as one of the Beach Devils' key players. After his spell on the Baltic coast, however, he returned to his hometown club.
