FIRST AWAY TEST: CROCODILES HEAD TO DRESDEN

Following their successful start against GIJS Marne Groningen, the Crocodiles Hamburg are set for their second preseason test. On Sunday, Head Coach Christopher Scholz and his team will take to the ice on the road for the first time, facing ESC Dresden 1b.

The Crocodiles won their first preseason game against Groningen 3–2 after a shootout. After falling 2–0 behind, the team showed great character and fighting spirit in the final period. Goals from Kalle Hällfors and Kevin Grasmik brought the Crocodiles level before Grasmik once again stepped up in the shootout to secure the victory.

Now, the next challenge awaits in Dresden. The game will also provide the first opportunity to put the systems and routines developed in training into practice under competitive conditions away from home.

Well prepared for Dresden

Following an intensive training camp and the first test against Groningen, the team has already gained valuable insights. In Dresden, the focus will be on taking the next steps, further improving the team’s systems, and continuing to grow together as a group.

Head Coach Christopher Scholz was also able to take plenty of positives from the opening game. In particular, the team’s response after falling 2–0 behind and the strong performance in the final period were encouraging signs. At the same time, the game highlighted areas that still need work during preseason.

Sunday’s matchup against ESC Dresden 1b will be a first for the Crocodiles, as the two teams have never faced each other before.

For the Crocodiles, the result will not be the main priority. Instead, the focus is on continuing their preseason preparations, gaining valuable game experience, and moving step by step closer to the start of the regular season.

After a successful first game at home, it is now time for the first test on the road.

The Crocodiles are ready to take the next step. Now it’s time to hit the ice and build on the positive development shown against Groningen.
